Why wearing a Seat Belt is important

Yesterday we witnessed the news of the tragic death of Mr Gopinath Munde in what looks like a minor car accident. And you know what? Nothing would have happened to him if he were wearing a seat belt (in the rear seat where he was sitting)…

We take these small things so lightly…never realise their potential impact on our lives and those of our near and dear ones.

-If you dash a car head-on at a speed of 20 kmph, the impact is equivalent to falling from 1st floor of a building on your chest! That will easily break your ribs, putting you on bed at least for a week.

-If your speed is 30 kmph, the impact is equivalent to falling on your chest from the 2nd floor. It will send you to an ICU.

-On a news program last night an expert on the subject said that if you dash at a speed of 60-which is so common!-the impact is that of falling from 11th floor! No chance of reaching a hospital…

Let’ buckle up while sitting in a car-even in the rear seat. And put on our helmet when biking. please do not say “I am only going to the corner of the street”. Or, “I drive very slow”. A crippling, even fatal, mishap can occur at any speed, right outside our home…

Take care, and educate those around you.
